How to remove tough stains
with materials at hand
You got a stain on your favorite shirt or dress and are going to throw it away? Don't rush to do it! It is quite possible that there is a chance to save it.
If the stain is fresh, it may be possible to remove it by immediately rinsing the stain area with cold water.
Do not use soap ! The alkali contained in it is capable of "fixing" the foreign color.
Next, it is recommended to wash the thing immediately, as you usually do.
Old stains cannot be removed so easily, they need some special treatment:
Greasy stains
Most of greasy stains can be easily removed with dishwashing detergent. Leave the gel on the spot for half an hour, and wash the item afterwards. This method is also suitable for stubborn stains.
Greasy stains can be removed with starch, chalk and talc as well.
Berry, juice and wine stains
If the stain is fresh, cover it with plenty of salt and leave it until the paint is absorbed. Then rinse the fabric with water (always cool). And wash the item.
If the stain is old, make a gruel of water and salt, apply to it, rub the affected area "without fanaticism" and leave the mixture for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse with cool water and wash.
Raw egg stains
A fresh egg stain cab be also removed with gruel from salt and cold water. Apply the mixture to the stain, let it dry, then brush off.
If the stain is old, rinse the item in cold water, and then treat the stain with a weak mixture of vinegar and water. After wash the item as usual.
Never use hot water against raw egg stains, otherwise you will get an egg cooked deep into your piece of clothes.
Blood stains
Like "egg" stains, blood stains cannot be treated with hot water. Soak the item in salted cold water for several hours. Then wash as usual.
Sweat stains
Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid. Apply the mixture to the stain, sprinkle generously with hydrogen peroxide and leave it for 1.5-2 hours. Then rinse the item thoroughly and wash as usual.
As you might have noticed, that SALT is a versatile stain remover.
You can try it for different stains, also for chocolate.
