How to choose a window squeegee
Having a good window squeegee while cleaning windows is almost half of success: less time spent and a shiny result.
So, what criteria should your squeegee correspond?
- Size
Choose a window squeegee according to the size of your windows. Wide squeegee is definitely better if youhave big windows – makes the job faster and much easier.
- Handle
A good squeegee will have a handle made of rubber or other non-slipping material. That way you don’t have to worry that it falls out of your hands during your work or damage something. Check that the handle has a weight and fits well in your hand.
It may sound strange, but“uncomfortable” handle makes the process unpleasant and complicated
- Rubber blade
A high-quality replaceable rubber band (rubber blade) glides easily over the glass, adhering snugly to the surface and leaving no streaks. Soft removable rubber bands are designed for washing windows in the cold season, hard ones - in the warm season.
Rubber bands of medium hardness can be used all year round. The cleaning edge of the gum should be smooth - without notches and cracks. If there are defects, the squeegee will leave streaks.
Rubber blade must be fixed and do not move from left to right while you are cleaning.
- Squeegee corpus and weight
Squeegees usually come in plastic, brassand stainless steel. Plastic squeegees may be less expensive, but these likely will not last as long. Brass is considered a good quality material, but it can be heavy, and it might begin to rust over time.
Stainless steel squeegees have a great reputation for durability, they tend to last for many years, as well as have a comfortable weight (about 200g).
